Sage Intacct Consultant – Nonprofit Specialist

Position Summary:

As a Sage Intacct Consultant specialising in nonprofit clients, you’ll play a pivotal role in implementing, optimising, and enhancing financial systems on the Sage Intacct platform. Acting as a strategic advisor, you’ll help nonprofit organisations streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and leverage Intacct’s full functionality to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end Sage Intacct implementations for nonprofit organisations, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support
  • Configure core modules (General Ledger, AP, AR, Cash Management, Purchasing, Grant Tracking) to align with nonprofit workflows
  • Build dimensional structures, approval workflows, dashboards, and custom reporting for nonprofit needs
  • Develop budgets, forecast models, and reporting structures for grant management and fund accounting
  • Analyse existing processes and recommend best practices for nonprofit financial management and internal controls
  • Provide strategic guidance on process improvements, accounting policies, and automation opportunities
  • Build financial reports and dashboards to give nonprofit leadership greater visibility into program spend, grant performance, and operational KPIs
  • Support clients in preparing month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing ongoing support and excellent customer service
  • Troubleshoot issues related to modules, workflows, integrations, and reporting
  • Deliver tailored training sessions and prepare user documentation
  • Manage project plans, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure timely delivery of milestones
  • Participate in internal process improvements and assist in pre-sales activities as needed

 

 
Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting and grant management
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting systems—Sage Intacct experience highly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process mapping skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex concepts to finance and non-finance audiences
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, consulting-oriented environment

 

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • CPA, MBA, or Sage Intacct certifications preferred
  • 3–5+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting, consulting, or financial systems implementation
